INTEGRITTY receives attention from investigative journalism broadcast on Italian national television.
The TV broadcast named Report, a well renowned TV program that dates back to 1997, is the oldest investigative journalism TV program on air in Italy to date. It started with the aim of bringing investigative journalism to the general public. Since then, it has contributed to many significant journalistic inquiries ranging from social issues to politics and economics.
The recent TV episode that involved INTEGRITTY initiative was focused on the role of industry in promoting and putting sometimes too much emphasis on newer, more expensive, medical devices before the complete demonstration of better performance with respect to older, less expensive ones. One of the examples that was employed by “RAI 3 Report” on these investigations was the analysis of the results of surgical aortic valve replacement (the older method) versus the newer, more expensive transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
